Contiki Legend

I was expecting a few deliveries. I’m guilty of online shopping a little too easily at times. When a package arrived on a summery day this past June, it didn’t look to be something I purchased. At first I was disappointed, then I was afraid. What if this was someone else’s order I received by mistake? How could that be? I turned the box around and my name was cutely written on the box and my address on the label.

I recognized the sender’s address, but wasn’t expecting anything from them. Pulling away the tape, the box revealed a brand new, light blue backpack and a sealed envelope. Opening it, the card was handwritten by a Contiki team member, thanking me for being a loyal traveller with the company, calling me a Contiki Legend. I am a Contiki Legend!

Setting the thoughtful card aside, I unzipped my new backpack filled with goodies: a cotton-soft, gradient blue beach blanket; a transparent infusion water bottle with a little note about Contiki’s environmental initiative; a much-wanted pop socket; and a pen that will never go out of style.

I was in awe. This made me speechless until I decided to write about it! This is not a sponsored post. Upon confirming my next trip with a phone call to the Contiki office, I thanked them for such a wonderful surprise. Their gift of gratitude made me grateful as well, as we both appreciate each other’s love for travelling the world.

The tours I’ve chosen with Contiki have made a positive impact on my life with #noregrets! I remain ambitious, searching for new adventures to feed my wanderlust before I run out of Contiki time – its travellers must be between the ages of 18 to 35. Had I had the courage and the hard-earned cash to travel more in my early twenties, I would have done so with this vibrant tour company, but I have traveled long before I knew of Contiki, and I will travel when I “retire” from Contiki. Time is what I wish to have the most. I’m proud of myself for pursuing my love of travel as I grow up, grow older, grow wiser.
